Well as of 11:30pm I have completed my fourth day of "The Shred." I like to say that I am still alive and still kickin. This workout is really intense, but I like it A LOT! It's only 20 minutes so it does not take that much time out of your day to get your exercise on.
I am sure the people who live below me just love when I am doing my jumping Jack's and the jump rope. You do all sorts of crunches and with my experience you will be able to tell that you did them. And by doing those jumping Jack's hurt like the devil going down the stairs the worst, but coming up hurts almost just as bad.
Something that boggles my mind when I am doing this workout is when I start getting tired and want to stop for just a second Jillian will say, "Don't stop now you can do it, and don't turn off your t.v. either. Somehow I think she can see me wanting to stop, but no matter how hard it burns I keep going. I hear Thomas the train in my head saying "I think I can, I think I can."
Last but not least if you have not done this workout video you should know that you go none stop for 20 minutes NO BREAKS, which in the end I think makes it better! Oh and this has nothing to do with the workout, but I gave up POP and man I would kill for a PEPSI right now!
Hope you are having a blessed weekend!

4. Being in college one thing I have always struggled with this. going back and forth between home and School is not help find a good church that I like in my college town. I want to find one and atten that one every Sunday.
5. I want to blog more. I LOVE reading blogs and can spend hours doing it, so I think I can handle blogging more. I am going to start a blog day that will be called Tasteful Tuesday. I will share recipes that I have tried lately and plus I just love to cook.
6. Everyone says this but I really do have to lose some weight. The doctor said I need to and I know I do so I am going to do my darnest to. I want to lose 20lbs by April. Hope to lose more than that.
7. Contact my friends as much as possible who do not live in same town as me.
8. Last but not least I want to be more spontanious and do somethings at random whether it short roadtrip or going to the movies!

Just call me FABULOUS

I got this fab-u-lous award from my sister Sam over at The Ruby Turtle Hippie Times. I am supposed to list five things that I am obsessed with at the moment!
1. Oklahoma Football- There is nothing like waking up on a Saturday and knowing it's football time in OKLAHOMA. Now I went to high school football games, but there is nothing like going to a college football game. There is so much tradition that takes place and I like it. My freshman year I was lucky that one of my teachers said we had to have a seating chart and two that the person I got put next to me was none other than Demarco Murray it was quite an entertaining semester to say the least. This past weekend I got to experience the Red River Rivalry with a dear friend and what a fun experience it was. Here is a picture from the game.
2. Blogs- I am in love with reading blogs! I don't care what kind of blog I will read it. When I get home from class I check my email, check facebook, and then I read blogs last because they are the best. I am quite fond of this blog below.

4. Grey's Anatomy- Oh how I love this show. It started my senior year and is still going. I am currently watching it as I type. I think that Grey's will go for another season, because of a line that they said in the first season. When they say this line it is one of my favorite parts of all Grey's episodes. My have two favorite characters the first is Dr. Bailey and Dr. George O'Malley, which I am still not happy that he is gone. My my my how new and old characters have come and gone.

Randomness!!!
So yes I have not updated in a loooong time like 4 months long and I just decided to do a post! It will definitely be random, but it's better than no post at all.
1. It is an absolutely beautiful day outside. Campus looks so pretty and the mums are starting to bloom
2. I finished my last test today for little while.
3. I am so glad fall TV is back on. I love Grey's Anatomy and very sad George is gone! I also love to watch Brothers and Sisters and last but not least Army Wives. I have several others, but not gong to list them all.
4. I had a really good weekend at home and still can't believe Loren and Will are 13! I love my family dearly and would not trade the world for them. Phil 1:3 I thank my God every time I remember you.
5. My roommate today told me that Bobby Flay is SEXY and I about fell in the floor!
6. I wish could go on a major shopping spree. First things I would buy would be the entire collection of Vera Bradley even if I did not the bag or purse etc. I would get it all in Bali Gold! The other thing I would buy would be a pair of chacos!
7. I love to bake and I am in the baking mood, but I do not have any cake mixes :( I want to make that 5 layer rainbow cake MckMama featured on her blog.
8. My best friend might get to come visit the great state of OKLAHOMA! I miss her dearly.
9. I HATE folding clothes. I will wash and dry every one's clothes for them as long as they fold them. When I get a big girl job I will have a folding lady instead of a cleaning lady!
10. I HATE cigarette smoke I said it once and I will say it again if I could only take one thing with me to a deserted island I would take all the cigarettes in the world with me and burn them all and ban smoking forever. ( I literally hold my breath when someone passes me on my way to class and they are smoking!
11. Reese's are my best friend when Aunt Ruby visits!
12. I wish I had a boyfriend!
That's all I got for now!

Walking Allergy Wednesday
As my sister would say, I am a walking allergy! So today in good 'ole Soonerland it was and still is a HOT day. News says it is 92 degrees in Norman, and that is hot compared to what we have normally been experiencing. I even broke out in a sweat walking to class.
Well after class I am crusin down the south oval as fast as I could to get to where my apartment shuttle picks me up. As Iwas am arriving I spotted a small tree with a little shade under it. All the trees around here don't have much shade due to the ice storms we have experienced over the years, so finding shade is not always easy.
I plopped my self down under that tree while I waiteedd. I checked facebook on my phone to kill some time while waiting on the shuttle.I glanced up after about two minutes to see my apartment shuttle headed onto the south oval circle drive. I leave my little shade tree happy as a girl could be when starting to experience a warm day like this.
I get into the shuttle with full blast AC going thank you Jesus for AC and I start to cool down. Then it happens I feel my body start to heat up on my arms and legs. I think Oh no here we go with a breakout of some sort of allergic reaction to something. After I get back to the apartment complex I scurried to my apartment as fast as my little legs could carry me, and find that I have whelps all over me. Here is a pic below of whelps that usually appear. Folks this is a mild case of an allergy attack for me.
I did what I always do when this occurs, which is wipe off all areas where a rash is trying to occur with a cold rag or warm depending on the weather and then put some good ole antibiotic ointment on it. If that does not work then I take a shower in this case today is what I had to do.
I recently had allergy test run on me in January. I did not need it done in my opinion cause I could have told you that I was allergic to everything they were going to stick me with a billion times. Having this test done I found out I am allergic to over 13 different kinds of trees and about 6 different grasses.
So I end with this, I found one of those trees out of 13 and one of those grasses I am allergic to all because I was hot. So from now on I have to park my happy little allergic self on a park bench with no shade in the future. Did I mention I am very hot natured?!?
P.S From now on Wednesday will be the day I tell you all about what one goes through with severe allergies like me.

To Be a Nurse or Not to be
Well that title can really make you wonder what this post is going to be about and considering I have not posted in ohh 3 months I am sure you might be curious!
Well here I go... I am in a Nursing class that I absolutely love! Its a class the takes a look at what is going on in the nursing world right now for instance: shortage of nurses, ethic codes, people having no insurance, and just being a nurse in general, so it not a class on how to learn to start an iv or to give a shot to say the least. One of the things in this class that we are required to do is to take a trip to go tour Health and Science Center and to shadow a nurse in the afternoon in an area we would possibly like to work in.
Before going on this little adventure I have been wondering if this is what i would like to do and if this is where God wants me. So I prayed for the last few weeks before going prayed to God to kind of show me that I am on the right track! So when Friday came I had a lot of nerves built up. One because I did not know exactly what all we would be doing and two because I really hoped I got to shadow a nurse in a field I would love to be in.
We were only told a few things about the day we would have which were you must wear professional clothes, shoes that will be good for walking, and an open mind. I had all of those but was a little close minded.
We arrived and got registered! We then sat and listened to a nursing student which was interesting but lets face it, it was 8:30 and I am not a morning person. I did not fall asleep, but drowsy in the mean time. Then we went to the skills lab which has desks and chairs in the middle then along the walls it looks like a hospital with bed and manikins in them. This is were nursing student learn how to do pretty much everything from starting and iv to learning to have good bed side manners. Oh and I learned how to properly put on a pair of gloves and to keep them sterile!! It was pretty neat considering some of the manikins talked!! But lets face it I was ready to get to the hospital for two reasons one to eat to get some energy and two so I could follow a nurse around.
Lunch ended pretty quickly and now was off to find me a nurse!! I bet you i first walked 5 miles, went on 20 different elevator, 5 stairways to get to my nurse. I got to be with a nurse who worked on the labor and delivery-triage floor. On this floor the nurses are responsible several different things. The can be checking someone to see how far women is in getting ready to delivering or checking a c-section incision. Now i really wanted to be in where someone was pushing out a baby, but I believe that was God's way of saying Jessi you have to start at the beginning and take baby steps to get where you want to be! I did not mention before that I was the last person to get paired up with a nurse and that also was God saying Jessi you got to have some patience in this process in becoming and finding a nurse!
Before ever getting to my nurse we did a tour of some different floors. I went to an adult trauma floor which means any car crashes, stabs gun shot, and four wheeler injuries they get it. We then went to a floor that was G.I. tracking which entails what goes in the mouth and does not come out or internal bleeding that floor gets it. We then went to a floor that I was a little unsure as to what it stood for which was the PICU. The PICU is for pediatrics, basically infants all the way to kids at the age of 21. We toured that hall and I know I looked into every room just to see if anyone was in there. There were 20+ rooms majority of them were full, but one thing I noticed was several were just the kiddos with no families. Another girl on the tour asked if they did not have parents and the nurse said a lot usually more than half don't have parent/families that come in with them. That my friends brought tears to my eyes.
To say the least I had a lot of different emotions that day. Some were happy and some were sad. I would tell you more about the floor I was on but cant really because that is a no no! One last thing though that I will share is when I first got to the nurse I was going to be shadowing, i told her what i was here for and she said ok. Then she said well I need to start and IV in room 1 would you like to do it, and I bought peed my pants. My response was ma'am I don't think you would want to me to do that and let alone that patient digging around in their arm to start an IV because I never done that nor have I been to nursing school yet! She thought I was getting ready to graduate nursing school!
Sorry this is long, but i just had a lot on my heart that I wanted to share! Someone once told me this The will of God will never take you where the grace of God will not protect you! And I will leave you with one of my favorite verses: "Don't worry about anything; instead pray about everything. Tell God what you need and thank him for all he has done" I say this God had a lesson for me to start learning or continue to learn through this experience and it is to give all my prayers to him, know that he will not put me in a bad situation and leave me hanging, patience, always start at the beginning and take baby steps, and always to thank him for what he has given me.
